Some agencies may have a Preferred Supplier List (PSL) that contains umbrella companies they usually work with. Before you sign a contract with an agency, you may need to check their terms whether they state that you can only use the umbrella companies on their PSL. If that’s the case you may need to consider other agency that do not have a PSL by the way you should be free to use an umbrella company of your choice.
Having the ability to choose from a wide spectrum of umbrella companies offers you the ability to test the market and land yourself a good deal. Most importantly many agencies allow contractors to use umbrella companies that are not on their PSL, so it’s always worth asking the question.
